Teaching Benefits

This unique Work in China program includes the following comprehensive features, designed to offer a rewarding teaching experience. You will not only teach English to Chinese but also immerse in the Chinese life, culture and language.

• Remuneration
  All teaching placements are guaranteed paid positions.

In general, the teaching salaries in China range from 3,000 to 13,000 RMB ( $500 - $1,600 ) a month. You will also receive a wide range of teaching benefits from free accommodation, Chinese Language classes, Art and Culture workshops, Medical Insurance (international insurance provider), etc (see below). Depending on your experience and background, extra teaching positions may be available at a rate of 90 RMB an hour.

• Free Accommodation
  All accommodation placements are inspected to ensure that they are clean and comfortable. You will be placed in a shared apartment fully furnished including beds, kitchen, TV, 24 hour hot water, air-conditioning, heating, and a bathroom.

• Free Professional Support and Development
  Regular workshops and seminars on teaching in China are held by experienced and qualified EFL teaching professionals. These workshops are designed to improve and enhance your teaching skills and awareness of the difficulties experienced by Chinese speakers learning English.

• Free Chinese Language Classes
  Participants are not required to have any knowledge of the Chinese language. These optional free classes on 'survival Mandarin' are held once a week and are taught by qualified and experienced native Chinese teachers. You will learn everyday Chinese words including phrases and words commonly used when teaching. Textbooks are supplied at no additional cost. Total Beginner to Advanced levels offered.

• Free Guided Excursions
  Free guided tours are held on weekends for you to discover the city's major historical and cultural attractions. Admission, transportation and English speaking guides are provided at no extra cost. These tours provide an opportunity for you to deepen your knowledge of China's rich history and cultural heritage.

• Free Cultural Seminars and Workshops
  Learn about Chinese art and culture through a series of introductory workshops on Chinese Calligraphy, Traditional Chinese Massage and Medicine, Chinese Painting, Chinese Songs or Taichi. Workshops are taught by experienced and qualified instructors. Materials and handouts are supplied.

• Teacher Exchange Program
  This optional exchange program offers interaction with Chinese teachers on a one-to-one basis. This is a unique feature that provides international teachers with support from their Chinese counterparts. Participants have benefited from this program which has been the source of many long lasting friendships.

• Emergency Travel and Medical Insurance
  For peace of mind, you are provided ISIS (International Student Insurance Services) Emergency Travel and Medical Insurance to cover any unforeseen medical circumstances.

• International SOS Medical Clinic Membership
  Designed to complement ISIS, you will be a member of International SOS and have access to one of the leading foreign medical providers that offers 24 hour alarm centers in China staffed by international doctors and medical staff.

• Certificate of Teaching
  A formal certificate will be awarded upon completion of the program. The certificate will confirm that you have successfully completed the program and record details such as the duration, program dates, teaching hours and host institution. A letter of reference will also be supplied on request.

• Teachers' Center
  This fully equipped Teacher's Center provides free computer and Internet access, and a reference library of English publications.

• Airport Pickup and Transfer
  You will be met at the airport by one of our friendly staff and transported to your accommodation. When departing, you will also be provided free airport transfer.

• Airfare
  Teachers selected for 10-month teaching contract will be provided Round-trip international airfare.

• Visa
  Successful applicants will be provided with all support documents required by the Ministry of Education and the Consulate or Embassy of People's Republic of China.
